Vineyards
Situated in the Southwestern strip of the land where Montalcino wines are produced, exposed to the wholesome currents incoming from the sea and sheltered by the towering hills, the commercial farm stretches over 30 hectares around the Castle.
Here the clay soil with an average and considerably structured mixture, combined to distinctive passion and wine-making expertise having ancient roots, represent a privileged background where the art of making wine becomes a form of expression for the local territory.
It's confined extension makes of it a true gem.
Five hectares of vineyards subdivided into six parcels, each with its own peculiar qualities, its own personality.
The planting density measures 180x0.80, the vines are spur-pruned with 4, at the most 5 fruit canes.
This limits the average production per plant to around one kilogram of grapes, basically one bottle of wine for each vine.
